Hello everyone! If you have been checking out my soap shop link in the last week or so, you might be noticing that my offerings are getting a little slim. That is because I have been selling lots of soap over at my Facebook page! It seems that a lot of people hang out on Facebook and prefer buying directly from my page. I also am in the process of revamping my website and possibly making some serious changes to its current state. I have always said I have a great memory. I could remember a million things without writing anything down, appointments, past events, future events, my telephone number when I was a child, the shirt I wore to hear Ross Perot speak at UCSB and all my kids’ birth dates.

But now, nope. I would be lying if I said it did not concern me just a bit. In the past few weeks, I have noticed myself forgetting things. Not like forgetting to take the kids to school or where the clothes go and stuff but random assorted details.

For example, the other day I wanted to ask Dad about going to a restaurant for dinner. Its a local restaurant, one we love and go to on occasion. I pass it almost every day if not 5 times a day. I could not remember the name for the life of me, so I had no choice to google it.

And the other day, it was getting close to bed time and Dad asked me a question from the other room. I am pretty sure I acknowledged hearing the question but when he came into my room, I assume looking for an answer, I had to actually ask him what he asked me. I forgot the question in the 30 seconds it took him to enter the room. And, now for the life of me I can’t remember what his question was let alone my answer.

To make matters worse, I am going to have to cut this post short because I am sitting here trying to remember all the things I can’t remember and I can’t remember them.

Pretty sure its because I have 3 kids who pull me in all sorts of directions, have a business that I am desperately trying to get off the ground, and I am sure there are reasons but I can’t remember them.

Sure, hope I am not alone.

I have been very sneaky and don’t tell Dad….

So Dad is turning 40 this year, specifically in June. That is a pretty fun milestone and unlike typical for us, I thought it would be fun to celebrate an adult birthday around here! After running thru all the various possibilities, I decided it would be fun to go on a special trip. Just Dad and I, no Big Girl, no Boy and no Little Girl.

So figuratively speaking, I have been to Hawaii, Costa Rica, Mexico, New York, the Bahamas and San Diego all courtesy of the internet. These are all the places I have researched in hopes of coming up with a fun, memorable trip.

BUT after going to lunch with a good friend of mine this past Friday who gave me another idea, I think I have narrowed down the trip………

LAS VEGAS

I am planning to go all out, 5 star hotel…shows…sushi…gambling…pool…..

For those who know me well, you know it must be a super duper occasion for me “to go all out” on a vacation…but its for Dad and you only turn 40 once so its Vegas or bust….

and just in case Dad decides that Vegas is not what he was hoping for as he turns 40, I will keep you all posted on where we do end up going!

oh and I was just kidding….you can tell Dad, I told him last night…do you really think I would post a big secret on my blog?
